On Thursday boys and their families will be able to sign up for Scouting during the Great Bend Sign up for Scouting night. There is no registration fee and every boy that signs up to be a scout will get a free subscription to Boys Life Magazine. Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades. The program combines outdoor activities, sports, academics, and more in a program that helps families teach ideals such as honesty, good citizenship, and respect. Last year, more than 250 youth participated in scouting programs across the area. The Boy Scouts of America comprises of more than one million volunteers working together for the sole purpose of helping its
nearly three million youth succeed in life.
Locations and sign up times are as follows: for boys who attend Eisenhower Elementary, Park Elementary, Lincoln Elementary- Thursday, 7 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2701 24th St.; for boys who attend Jefferson Elementary, Riley Elementary, Central Kansas Christian Academy, Holy Family School- Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church 2400 Washington.
