HOISINGTON — The Clara Barton Hospital Foundation is currently seeking applicants for their 2020 healthcare career scholarships. Each year the Foundation awards several scholarships to students pursuing a career in a healthcare field. Scholarship amounts vary depending on the merits of the application and funds available from the endowments.
The four scholarships to be awarded this year are: the Jonathan Witt Scholarship, the Sadie Stalcup Scholarship, the Verda Lane Nursing Scholarship and the Dr. Robert Moore Scholarship. Application deadline for all scholarships is April 1, 2020.
Both the Jonathan Witt and Sadie Stalcup scholarships are limited to applicants accepted into, currently enrolled in, or planning to pursue a healthcare career. Applicants must be a current resident or a high school graduate in the Clara Barton service area.
The Verda Lane Nursing Scholarship was established at the request of her family to assist students in their academic pursuit to become an LPN, RN, or BSN. Applicants must be admitted to a nursing program and have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship cannot be awarded to pre-nursing students.
Established by his family in honor of his dedicated service to the patients of Clara Barton Hospital, the Dr. Robert Moore Scholarship assists employees of Clara Barton in continuing their education. Only current employees are eligible and if interested, can call the Foundation office to learn more about this scholarship.
Last year’s scholarship recipients were Madison Wilborn, Amber Thomas, Shayla Cook, Lindsay Penka, Angela Beck, Kaylie Doll, Alyson Demel and Maleigha Schmidt.
