The City of Great Bend has revised the schedule for street projects after reporting they would start next week. On Monday, June 20, crews will begin work on the Community Development Block Grant project. This project will include the reconstruction of 19th and Harrison. Anticipate the intersection to be closed to all traffic for approximately four weeks. There will still be access to the Middle School through detours around the intersection. The second part of the project is the repaving of Broadway from Polk to Morton. During this time Broadway will be restricted to one way traffic. One lane will be blocked off while work is being performed. Once work in that lane is completed then the opposing lane will be shut down. Expect approximately 4 weeks for completion of the 2 projects. Traffic will be detoured around these project areas as work demands and we ask everyone to be careful and attentive when around these project sites.
