City Administrator Kendal Francis, Community Coordinator Christina Hayes and Great Bend City Band Manager Kurtis Koch met this week to address a concern regarding a summertime favorite, the Great Bend City Band 2020 Concert Season.

Many discussions where held, the band members were polled and due to the practicing restraints and safety concerns, for both band members and patrons, it has been decided to cancel the 2020 Great Bend City Band Concert series.

Francis said, “We apologize for any inconvenience. The concerts are very popular. However, the safety of our band members and attendees is our utmost concern, and in that light, it was felt that canceling was the correct thing to do.  We look forward to resuming the concerts next season.”

As things continue to reopen, it’s important to remember that not everything will immediately return to normal. The City of Great Bend reminds all citizens to make best judgements as they return to activities and continue to practice and follow KDHE & CDC guidelines.
