The City of Great Bend will be burning its biggest tree pile at the compost site this week. The project is scheduled to start Wednesday and could last until Friday with staff monitoring the pile over the weekend. Dates could change based on weather and wind, Street Superintendent James Giles stated.
“I want the public to know that there will be significant smoke, and if the wind is blowing towards town, people will notice,” Giles said. The pile will be monitored by city staff 24 hours a day until the project is done.
“The City of Great Bend appreciates the patience of the public while this work is being performed,” Giles said. For questions or comments regarding this project, contact Giles by calling 793-4150.
