The Central Kansas Association for the Visually Impaired will hold its annual Craft and Food Sale on the last weekend of September. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 28, at the Dominican Sisters Convent auditorium, 3600 Broadway Ave., Great Bend. Easy access is on the north side of the Convent off 17th St.
The sale will feature baked goods and handmade crafts, as well new and used items. Proceeds will benefit CKAVI, a nonprofit organization that provides support and visual aids for the blind and visually impaired. It is an affiliate group of the Kansas Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
CKAVI also keeps members informed of all state and federal legislation relative to the visually impaired, such as the Americans With Disabilities Act.
The group’s next meeting is at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, and it meets on the fourth Sunday of every month at the Convent.
