At the end of the school, Central Kansas Christian Academy took the Iowa assessments standardized tests, and their composite scores were above the national average at every grade level. Some scores were several grade levels above.

“We are so proud of our students, teachers and staff here at CKCA,” Principal Sherry Pruter said. “They all have worked diligently this year, and these test scores prove it.”

CKCA is accredited by ACSI and takes the Iowa Assessments each year instead of the Kansas assessments because it has a Bible component. They have not used this Bible assessment yet, but are considering this for future testing.

Standardized assessments create a baseline for measuring student achievement and performance among schools, and allows educators to compare student knowledge to identify learning gaps. It is important to note, though, that standardized tests do not measure intelligence, but rather the impact of what they have learned in their classrooms.

“Our teachers and staff at CKCA care about our students and want to see them succeed academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually,” Pruter said. “The curriculum we teach is only part of what we do at CKCA. Building relationships in a value based, Christ-centered environment is what really sets us apart.”
