Commission to discuss legislative updates

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes:

• Renewal of Nightingale Notes Electronic Health Records subscription for the Health Department.

• A matching fund request: for the Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging.

• A discussion of the  Kansas Legislative Policy Group Winter Meeting Jan. 24 in Topeka.

Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:

•   9:45 a.m. –  A county counselor interviews with Don Anderson.

• 10:15 a.m. – program update with Amy Boxberger, Central Kansas Community Corrections director, and Marissa Woodmansee, 20th Judicial District Juvenile Services director.

• 10:45 a.m. – regular business discussion with Matt Patzner, director of operations. 

• 11:15 a.m. – county counselor interview with Patrick Hoffman.

• 1:30 p.m. – program update with Brenda Kaiser, human resource director.

• 2:00 p.m. – continuing discussion of the HVAC bids.
