Commission looks at facade grant, council votes on budget

The Barton County Commission and the Great Bend City Council both meet Tuesday, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes the Barton County Facade Improvement Grant, the 20th Judicial District Juvenile Services fiscal year 2022 carry-over budget, the Central Kansas Community Corrections fiscal year 2022 carry-over reimbursement plan budget, a buyback of track loaders for the Road and Bridge Department, the repair of a dump truck for Road and Bridge, the purchase of a fire truck for the Solid Waste Department, the purchase of a four-person console for 911, and an executive session to evaluate the performance of one or more county employees.

The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Great Bend Events Center, 3111 10th St. One can also view the meetings on Access TV via Cox Cable Channel 20 or live online at www.facebook.com/gbcitycouncil/. The meeting will be recorded.  The agenda The agenda includes approval of the city’s 2022 operating budget, unsafe structure hearings for properties at 403 Buckeye and 1007 10th, a Police Station construction manager agreement and an evaluation of City Administrator Kendal Francis.
