Commission looks at outside board, committee involvement

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes:

• A resolution concerning the involvement of sitting Barton County commissioners on area boards and committees.

• A National 4-H Week proclamation.

• A zoning amendment for a tract of land just north of Hoisington to be rezoned from agricultural to light manufacturing service commercial.

• The repair of a Caterpillar 615C II scraper for the Barton County Landfill.

• The Hoisington Gun Club improvement project at Cheyenne Bottoms.

• The appointment of a deputy district coroner.

Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:

•  10 a.m. – Facade Improvement Grant update with Chelsea Morris, Chelsea Properties LLC. 

• 10:15 a.m. – ADM project update – Darren Williams, county works director. 

• 10:45 a.m. – regular business discussion with Matt Patzner, director of operations.
