The Golden Belt Community Concert Association is just one of 93 nonprofit organizations and services participating in this year’s Giving Tuesday “Golden Belt Gives” Campaign hosted by the Golden Belt Community Foundation. The Foundation is accepting gifts to these community organizational endowments during the month of November, leading up to and ending on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1.
Founded in 1937, the Golden Belt Community Concert Association in Great Bend has a rich heritage of providing quality, diverse and affordable musical performances to the residents of Barton County and the surrounding area, said member Linda Jerke. The association’s vision is to enrich the cultural awareness and appreciation of the performing arts for everyone in the communities served.
Because of the pandemic, the Golden Belt Community Concert Association, which serves members in several surrounding counties, was forced to cancel its scheduled concerts for the spring of 2020 and its entire 2020-2021 season. The association hopes to begin offering a full season of concerts again in the fall of 2021.
All organizations participating in Giving Tuesday are listed on the Golden Belt Community Foundation’s Giving Tuesday website, www.goldenbeltgives.org.
