The Golden Belt Community Concert Association will begin its 2015-2016 season with “The McCartney Years,” a note-for-note recreation of a mid-1970s Paul McCartney concert. Show time is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone.

This GBCCA event is available to concert association members. Full-time students will be admitted to the concert for a $5 donation at the door when they show their school I.D. The auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m. GBCCA memberships are still available for this season and can be purchased at the door of the first concert.

Led by perfectionist Yuri Pool as Paul McCartney, “The McCartney Years” has a commitment to 100 percent live and accurate reproductions of McCartney’s concert. The show is period-true, technically stunning and sonically explosive. Every note is live and played true to its original arrangement. The audience can rewind to 1973 and recapture the excitement of the iconic Wing’s World Tour.

Pool is true to Sir Paul in his musicianship, tremendous vocal stylings and presentation, and his band doesn’t miss a beat. TMY players include David Usselman (guitars and bass); Braden DeCooman (guitars); Darryl Lahteenmaa (keyboards and synth); Karen Bell (percussion and keyboards); Dean McKey (drums) and Yuri on bass, vocals, piano and guitar.

Audiences can relive the ’60s and ’70s and feel the same passion for McCartney with a band that has opened for Mariah Carey, has performed sold-out shows across North America and Europe, and has been featured on international news channels such as CNN, Fox and the BBC.
