The City of Great Bend announced Friday crews will begin work Monday, June 20 on the Community Development Block Grant street project.
This project will include the reconstruction of the 19th Street and Harrison Street intersection. Drivers should anticipate the intersection to be closed to all traffic for approximately four weeks. There will, however, still be access to Great Bend Middle School through detours around the intersection.
The second part of the project will be the repaving of Broadway Avenue from Polk to Morton streets. Starting at approximately 9 a.m. Monday, June 20, Broadway will be restricted to one way traffic for westbound traffic. One lane will be blocked off while work is being performed. Once work in that lane is completed, the opposing lane will be shut down.
Drivers should expect the two projects to take approximately four weeks to complete. Traffic will be detoured around these project areas as work demands. City officials ask everyone to be careful and attentive when around these project sites. The City of Great Bend appreciates everyone’s patience as these improvements are made.
