Core Community graduated its seventh Getting Ahead class on August 25.

Core Community’s mission is to engage our communities to lift families out of poverty. It creates an environment that educates, empowers, and equips members to move up and out of poverty successfully. Participants are here to create a safe and nurturing space where people can contribute and become champions.

Now that the leaders have graduated and gone on to Phase 2 of the program, Core Community sponsors are asking for volunteers from the community to become Core Friends. Core Friends are stable, compassionate middle class members from the community who are willing to come alongside and be a friend to one of the leaders who are making their way out of poverty.
