County Commission, GB Council to meet Tuesday

The Barton County Commission and the Great Bend City Council both meet Tuesday, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes a letter of support for Sunflower Diversified Services, computer software annual agrreements and a letter opposing a Kansas House bill that offers COVID-19-related property tax reimbursements and an executive session.

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, at  at the Great Bend Events Center, 3111 10th St.

The agenda includes permissions for the annual Art and Wine Walk, abatements and Quail Cove housing development rezoning request.
