The Barton County Commission will meet from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, with business conducted during the agenda meeting starting at 9 a.m. at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main. The commission meets in room 106 on the first floor of the courthouse and the meeting will also be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. There will be a Neighborhood Revitalization Program Public Hearing at 9 a.m.
The regular agenda meeting will start at the close of the hearing. Items on the agenda include celebrating 50 years of employment by Road and Bridge Foreman Gary Demel; a proclamation recognizing National 4-H Week; a joint proclamation in support of Manufacturing (MFG) Day; review of applications for Facade Improvement Grants; proposed premium pay for county employees, to fairly compensate employees in light of economic uncertainty and increased risk due to the COVID-19 pandemic; a resolution adopting the Barton County Neighborhood Revitalization Plan and adoption of the plan’s interlocal agreement; and purchase of a vibratory roller compatible with a Bobcat track loader for the Road and Bridge Department.
