County honors staff, City Council gets new member

The Barton County Commission will meet Monday morning and the Great Bend City Council will meet Monday evening.

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The agenda includes honoring county employees for years of service, awarding the Employee Recognition Award and a departmental update.

The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the City Office, 1209 Williams. The agenda includes the swearing in of Junior Welch as the new council member for the vacant Ward 4 seat, the Kansas Department of Transportation cost-share program, and agreements with the city’s on-call engineering firm Professional Engineering Consultants to design the cost-share program projects.
