In all, the Barton County Commission Monday morning recognized 355 years of continuous service to the county when the recognized staff five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of employment.

Every year, the Employee Relations Committee recognizes employees for their service. All of the honorees’ names were read aloud. They all met with a round of applause from the crowd gathered in the commission chambers.

“Thank you all for attending,” commission Chairwoman Alicia Straub said, addressing the packed room. “It is so nice to recognize you for all the work you do.”

Honored were: Five years – Natasha Beneke, Mark Cross, Don Davis, Christina Doyle, Melissa Fields, Stacy Johnson, Drew Myers, Elgica Ordonez, Kay Owens, Katie Powell, Carrie Ruppe, Susan Williams, and Sheri Wornkey; 10 years – Barb Esfeld, Wendy Prosser, Barb Swayze and Pam Wornkey; 15 years – Brian Batman, Judy Goreham, Casey Hubbard, Ryan Lichter, Diana Watson and Darren Williams; 20 years – Susan Johnson; 25 years – Melvin Cravin, Mary Waite and Sarah Younger; 30 years – John Debes; and 35 years – County Clerk, Donna Zimmerman.
