County talks recycling, city talks property maintenance ordinances revisions

The Barton County Commission and the Great Bend City Council both meet Monday, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes local recycling grants, leasing additional space for Road and Bridge Department storage and a content filter system for the county’s computer system.

The agenda includes allowing the Great Bend Housing Authority to make a payment in lieu of taxes, amendments to garbage and vegetation ordinances, a mobile food truck ordinance and the purchase of vehicles for the Police Department.
