The Barton County Health Department will conduct a drive-through vaccination clinic from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday at Brit Spaugh Park. All preparations of the vaccine will be available, and individuals may receive their first, second or third (booster) dose.
The Health Department received notification last week from Kansas Department of Health and Environment that effective immediately Kansas Providers may administer an additional dose of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
The additional booster dose is recommended for people who are moderately and severely immunocompromised due to a health condition or medical treatment and have already been fully vaccinated with the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccines only. Documentation of qualifying condition is not a requirement and the vaccine recipient may self-attest.
Those wanting the booster must have had their second dose at least 28 days prior the third jab. Regardless of whether the person had Pfizer or Moderna, they can chose either of the vaccines for their booster.
It is not required, however, to expedite your vaccination, eligible persons may visit www.bartoncounty.org to download and complete the vaccine consent form found under the COVID 19 tab.
