A crack repair project will start soon on a section of U.S. 183 in Rush County.

The Kansas Department of Transportation project will be on U.S. 183 from the south city limits of La Crosse north to the Rush/Ellis county line. The length is about 12 miles.

During the work, expected to begin around Oct. 18 and end around early November, traffic in the work zone will be restricted to one lane and controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists approaching the work zone should be prepared to stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes.

R.A. Knapp Construction Inc. of Lenexa is the primary contractor for the $150,420 project.
