HOISINGTON — The deadline to enter children in pageants going on during Hoisington’s upcoming Labor Day Weekend celebration is Monday, July 31.
Pageants are open to both girls and boys. There are three age groups:
• Baby Pageant, for children 6-23 months old
• Jr. Prince and Princess, for age 2-4 years
• Prince and Princess, for age 5-8 years
These pageants will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Hoisington Activity Center.
The top three winners is each category will receive prizes and can ride on the Royalty Float at the Labor Day Parade. All registered contestants will receive a memento picture frame and an invitation to walk alongside the Royalty Float.
Parade entries
This year’s celebration theme is “Heroically Hoisington.” The celebration will run Sept. 1-4, with the annual Labor Day Parade on Monday, Sept. 4.
The deadline to enter the 2017 Labor Day Parade and Car Show is 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18. Registration is free until the deadline. Late parade entries will be charged a fee and will be at the end of the lineup if space is available.
