Great Bend High School will host its annual debate tournament Saturday, Sept. 19, and judges for more than 100 rounds are still needed.
“We don’t want to have to cancel our tournament,” said Barbara Watson, GBHS debate coach. “We have to host a tournament in order for our students to compete.
“Our debate students have already worked hard filing their debate boxes, so they want to be able to compete in tournaments,” she said.
A debate round lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour and 20 minutes.
Requirements to be a judge include being at least 18 years old and no longer in high school and willing to listen to the whole debate.
Times are: Round 1, 8 a.m.; Round 2, 9:30 a.m.; Round 3, 11 a.m.; Round 4, 1:30 p.m. and Round 5, 3 p.m.
Anyone who can help judge may call Watson at the high school, 793-1521.
