Deines features area artists

RUSSELL — “Lovely Bits and Pieces,” featuring paintings and ceramics by area artists, is the spring exhibit at The Deines Cultural Center in Russell. Florals and spring colors abound in this vibrant multi-artist show of paintings and ceramics, said Shannon Trevethan at the Deines Center.

Featured painters, all from the Great Bend area, are Karen Shaner, Krystall Barnes, Mary Kottmann, Von Pounds and Bev Simonson, with watercolors, pastels, and oils. Featured ceramists are Carol Long and Mark and Bambi Freeman from St. John and Ellinwood.

The exhibit, which will run from May 3 to June 14, will open on Friday, May 3. The public is invited to the opening reception from 5-7 p.m., where they can meet the artists.

The Deines Cultural Center is located at 820 N. Main Street in Russell. Admission to  the galleries is always free and everyone is welcome.
