Dogs removed for lack of shelter

Dogs were removed from 132 Pine St. in Great Bend on Thursday, after reportedly being left without shelter, food or water.
The Barton County Sheriff’s Office was notified around 2:20 p.m. that the Golden Belt Humane Society would be checking on a report of two dogs without shelter at that address, and requested an officer. An officer from the Great Bend Police Department office responded.
At 5:45 p.m., the humane society picked up the dogs, and a cruelty to animals case was taken by the GBPD.
