Down it goes Nelson Stone deftly maneuvers his excavator as he demolishes one of last surviving World War II-era bomber hangers at the Great Bend Municipal Airport Sunday afternoon. The City of Great Bend recently received permission from the Federal Aviation Administration to tear the structure down. It housed B-29s during WW II, was the site of Marlette Homes and has since deteriorated beyond repair. The city has not determined what the site will be used for once the hanger is removed. - photo by DALE HOGG Great Bend Tribune Latest First-ever local Parkinson’s Community Walk set Students work on alphabet book Barton County youth attend Take Down Tobacco Day of Advocacy PVCH outreach surgeon shares colon-cancer facts during special month
