STAFFORD — What a Friday night at our town of Stafford!

We decided to celebrate Stafford by enjoying music provided by Jan Turner, Jeff Riegel,Tammy Thimesch, Trevor Stimperl, Carole Converse and Wanda Cass. It sounded like we had been teleported to Branson!

Outdoor games for children were provided by a family in the community, and were enjoyed in the back yard. Thank you!

Peyton & Parker Roush and Kynlee Hearn stayed outside to supervise game time. Thank you! I know it was a fun time for the kids.

Speakers for the evening were Deanna Eisenhower and Jamie Downing. They had pictures displayed of the many improvements made to the City of Stafford and future projects. It was an impressive list of projects completed in the last 10 years (not the least of these a new pool which has been a wonderful addition to our community). Thank you Deanna and Jamie for sharing with us.

Everyone enjoyed the free food provided by a family in Stafford. Wonderful pictures of Stafford were displayed throughout the library. The pictures will remain at the library for a few weeks. We are very blessed with community support! We had at least 110 men, women and children attend.

The (summer reading) caves are only fond memories now. Sandy is looking forward to her grand scheme for next summer! It will be magnificent and colorful!

My son John took us to the Wichita Library to see what all they have to offer. It was unbelievable! A whole room full of DVDs, a huge room for children that includes a nice play area, special collections that are under lock and key, a wall full of car and truck manuals, and many other exciting features. It was a nice way to enjoy an afternoon.

While you are in Wichita, the Wichita Art Museum has sent us a card that you can check out and four adults can enjoy the Art Museum for free. Children under 18 are always free, to my understanding.

We offer condolences to the Gretchen Hildebrand Newell family. Gretchen and David’s friends and family are a big reason we were able to add the Children’s Room in memory of their daughter Jeanette. Gretchen and David were still involved in the library and kept contact with us by reading our Library News. What a reunion with Jeanette that Gretchen is enjoying today!
