Driver injured when car goes off K-96

RUSH COUNTY — A Rush Center woman was injured Wednesday afternoon after the car she was driving went off K-96 and struck a power pole, 4 miles east of Rush Center. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the driver, Marissa C. Wagner, 20, was able to get out of the car, which became fully engulfed with fire. She was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital with undetermined injuries.
The crash occurred around 2:25 p.m. when the vehicle, a 2012 Chevy passenger car, went left of center for an unknown reason. The car was removed by Auggie’s Tow Service.
The Highway Patrol reported it was unknown if the driver was wearing a seat belt.
