A Russell man was involved in a one-vehicle accident at 7:07 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 281, 15 miles south of Russell in Barton County.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports Allen Wayne Strecker, 65, was traveling north in a 1972 Chevrolet passenger vehicle and for an unknown reason it entered the west ditch. The vehicle then went airborne over NE 200 Road, landed and stopped facing north. The driver was taken to Russell Regional Hospital with possible injury. The vehicle was towed by A&D Auto Repair. Strecker was wearing a seat belt.
