On Friday morning, Great Bend Police officers discovered a vehicle that had been stolen from Michigan in the Super 8 motel parking lot at 911 Grant St. Their investigation led to two women being arrested on drug charges. Counterfeit money was also collected with the vehicle, according to a GBPD news released.

Officers were in the area around 10:50 a.m. Friday, “checking on a possible suspicious person.” After they spotted the stolen vehicle in the parking lot, detectives located the subjects who had been in possession of the vehicle inside Room 203 of the motel. After a search warrant was obtained and executed, Ashlee Swink, 28, and Isabel Leal, 24, were arrested.

“Swink and Leal were in possession of numerous different identification cards, marijuana, methamphetamine, paraphernalia, counterfeit currency and financial ledgers with account information and personal information,” the GBPD reports. They were arrested and booked into the county jail. The suspected narcotics, identification cards and financial information was collected along with the counterfeit currency and vehicle.
