Early registration opens for Oozefest

Party in the Park: Oozefest Mud Volleyball Tournament is planned for Saturday, Sept. 21 at Veterans Memorial Park. Oozefest organizers are seeking volleyball teams to enjoy a day of mud volleyball in the park.
Teams will enjoy a day in the mud with a double elimination tournament with rally scoring. Teams can register at the Great Bend Recreation Commission office, 1214 Stone Street. Deadline is Thursday, Sept. 19.  The team fee is $50. Early bird team registration runs from Monday, Aug. 26, through Sept. 12. All team members signing up early will receive a free Oozefest T-shirt.
Volleyball team members can also bring their Explore Great Bend pin – which will be going on sale soon – to receive a free freedom tumbler.
Team entry forms are available at the City of Great Bend offices, GBRC office and on the GBRC website. Teams are required to check in at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 21 at the tent on the north side of Veterans Lake by the walking track. Tournament brackets will be posted on the GBRC website: www.greatbendrec.net.
