Anna Frizell and Caleb Maneth are the recipients of the Carl and Evelyn Miller Memorial 4-H Scholarship. Carl and Evelyn were leaders for the Lakin Go-Getters 4-H club. Carl served on the 4-H Holding Board from 1969 through 1975 and they both worked for many years with the 4-H Chicken BBQ.
Anna Frizell, a 10-year member of the TLC Twisters, excelled in the clothing and photography project. She received the grand champion award in clothing three different years and placed second at the state photography judging contest in 2014. Anna served as a Healthy Living Ambassador for her club and taught members to prepare healthy snacks for the club. Anna is attending Kansas State University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She is the daughter of Neil and Bev Frizell of Great Bend.
Caleb Maneth was a member of the Great Bend City Slickers 4-H Club for 12 years. Caleb’s most rewarding 4-H experience was being a camp counselor for four years at Rock Springs Ranch. He was also a delegate to Washington DC through the 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus conference. Caleb is presently attending Barton Community College and plans to attend the University of Wyoming and major in Biology. Caleb is the son of Ed and Kelly Maneth of Olmitz.
Jessika Stroud, a member of the Busy Buzzers 4-H Club, was honored as a recipient of a Barton County Holding Board Scholarship during the Barton County Fair. Jessika is the daughter of Eugene and Darla Stroud of Great Bend.
