MANHATTAN — Kansas State University’s Blue Key Senior Honorary has named former Great Bend resident Katie Niederee as its outstanding alumnus.
Niederee will be recognized at Blue Key’s annual banquet in late April. Niederee was selected as the group’s Rich Mistler Alumni Excellence Award winner for emulating the honorary’s motto of “Serving, I Live” and for showing exceptional dedication to the three pillars of Blue Key: scholarship, leadership and service.
Niederee earned a bachelor’s graduate in mass communications from K-State in December 2010 and was a former Blue Key member. She currently serves as press secretary for the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance in Washington, D.C.
