Band students from Great Bend High School will present their contest solos and small ensemble selections at 7 p.m. on Monday in the GBHS Band Room. Soloists include: Peter Marston, Sarahi Prieto, Desiree Workman, Kelci Kearns and Taylor Fry, flute; Anna Frizell and Kaitlynn Tuey, clarinet; Stu Hogg and Colton Lagerman, alto sax; Taylor Lampe, Gatlin Reed and Estella Schumacher, trumpet; and Luke Abbott, euphonium. Also performing will be the Freshman Woodwind Ensemble (Desiree Workman, Kit Barnes, Taylor Dougherty, Karah Stewart), Varsity Mixed Brass Trio (Gatlin Reed, Elena Lewis, David Harris), Low Brass Quartet (Kiralynn Bunn, Michelle Rooney, Logan Boyd, David Harris), the Saxophone Quintet (Stu Hogg,Colton Lagerman, Spencer Keil, Michael Raymer, Jordan Otten), and the Brass Ensemble (Taylor Lampe, Miles Orth, Mason Roach, Brynt Galvan, Luke Abbott, Genesis Rose, Stephanie Langer, Kiralynn Bunn, Logan Boyd, Michelle Rooney). Piano accompanist is Mrs. Miriam Strasen, and band instructors are Mark DeWald, Isaac Enochs and Kurtis Koch. The recital is free and open to the public. The Regional Contest will be held at Barton Co. Com. College on Saturday, April 14. It is also open to the public and there is no admission fee to attend.
