The First United Methodist Church, 2123 Forest Ave., Great Bend, announces the recipients of the HH and Jennie Kopke Memorial Scholarship for the 2011-2012 school year. The new recipients are: Rana Ahmadi, daughter of Hashmatullah and Tourpaki Ahmadi; Ryan Bretches, son of Mark and Sarah Bretches; Derek Moos, son of Mike and Stephanie Moos; Marcella McCluskey, daughter of Patrick and Tish McCluskey; Brittany Pflughoeft, daughter of Brian and Malissia Pflughoeft; and Lauren Thill, daughter of Mike and Ginger Thill.The renewal recipients are: Elizabeth Elliott, daughter of Brian and Mary Elliott; Matthew Elliott, son of Brian and Mary Elliott; Michelle Metzger, daughter of Mary Metzger; Holly Ney, daughter of Diane Ney; Damon Rea, son of Leslie and Jean Rea; and Abby Thill, daughter of Mike and Ginger Thill.The Kopke’s initiated this scholarship in 1972 with a gift to the church. The Kopke scholarship is available to graduating seniors from Barton and Comanche counties.
