HOISINGTON FORENSICS KIDS QUALIFY FOR STATE

The Hoisington High School forensics team traveled to Kinsley recently with eight kids, five competing for the first time ever, and theyreturned with five medals.
Logan McHenry and Daphne Copp placed second in improvised duet acting, qualifying for State. Logan also qualified for State in prose, placingthird.
Trey Byers and Xavier Robinson placed sixth (out of 18) in improvised duet acting and earned medals. They missed qualifying for State by just two places.
Payton Steiner, Brianna Rose, Braxton Donovan, and Sarah Serna also competed.
The 24 member team also includes Jonathan Ball, Chandler Blackwell, Tanner Blackwell, David Boese, MyKayla Burgess, Alexis Doonan, Austin Doonan, Logan Hammeke, Joanna Lockwood, Lexen McHenry, Madison Pata, Keijlt Phillips, Taylor Schwartz, Dante Urban, Zada Vasquez and Dylan Yott.
Coach Marion Oborny recently announced the Outstanding Debater Awards, given to Alicia Earegood, Logan McHenry and Taylor Schwartz.
David Boese, Alicia Earegood, Logan McHenry and Taylor Schwartz earned debate letters.

Barton County 4-Hers receive scholarships

Barton County 4-H members were presented scholarships to further their education from the Barton County 4-H Holding Board, Chari Miller-Manry and the Carl and Evelyn Miller Memorial scholarship funds. The 4-H Holding Board Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation and all funds are used for the benefit of 4-H youth of Barton County. Matching funds for the Holding Board scholarships were provided by Chari Miller-Manry, in memory of Allan V. Miller who served as a volunteer 4-H leader for many years.
