Local educator awarded statewide grant

Mr. Stan Ewy, a teacher at Otis-Bison Elementary School in USD 403, was recently awarded a classroom grant by the Kansas Association of American Educators (KANAAE), a non-union professional educators association serving Kansas teachers. Mr. Ewy will use the funds to purchase an educational nutrition program for his physical education classes.
KANAAE is pleased to present this award to Stan, said Garry Sigle, KANAAE executive director. We are excited we can be a part of providing educational classroom materials for his physical education students.
The winners of the KANAAE Teacher Scholarships and Classroom Grants are selected by a committee of their peers. All educators are encouraged to apply.
KANAAE provides teacher scholarships and classroom grants exclusively for Kansas teachers twice a year. The grants can help pay for a variety of materials for the classroom and scholarships can be used to cover a wide variety of expenses including tuition, books, conferences, and workshops. The next application deadline is October 15. For more information visit www.kanaae.org.
