MANHATTAN — Several Kansas State University students were named winners or received awards at the recent Music Program Honors Recital and Awards Ceremony. The music program is part of the university’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance.
Undergraduate and graduate students competed for performance honors at the Honors Recital. Awards presented were from Sigma Alpha Iota, the women’s music fraternity, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a music fraternity for men, as well as several other music program scholarships and leadership awards. In addition, new members were inducted into the university’s chapter of Phi Kappa Lambda, a music honor society.
Area students who participated and/or received honors: Stephanie Goering, December 2017 bachelor’s graduate in music education, Ellinwood, Pi Kappa Lambda initiate; Rachael Gros, master’s student in music and December 2017 bachelor’s graduate in music education, LaCrosse, Pi Kappa Lambda initiate; Sara Gift, senior in music education, Stafford, the Sigma Alpha Iota Scholastic Award.
