EHS students attend FHSU Math Relays

COURTESY PHOTO Ellinwood High School students attended the FHSU Math Relays on Nov. 10.

Ellinwood High School went to the Fort Hays State University Math Relays on Nov. 10. Each grade level was competing against students from their own grade level.  

The Freshmen team of Ty Hammeke, Isaiah Steele and Jonas Kern finished 3rd in Number Sense; 4th in Algebraic Manipulations; and 5th in Calculations with Calculators. Individually, Ty Hammeke finished 8th in Application of Algebra, Arithmetic.  

The Sophomores of Nathan Hammeke, Bryce Steffan and Jaelyn Bauer finished 4th as a team in Applications of Algebra, Arithmetic. In addition, individually Bryce Steffan finished 9th in Calculations with Calculators.  

The Junior class as a team finished 6th in Number Sense (Drew Hines, Alex Krebs, and Evan Ringwald) and 4th as a team in Informal Geometry. 

As a senior, Sam Brauer finished 10th in Number Sense; 10th in Informal Geometry; and 6th in Application of Algebra, Arithmetic. The senior team of Sam Brauer, Asher Miller, and Brooklin Morgan placed 11th in Trigonometry.
