Ellinwood City Council approves USDA grant for computer upgrades

ELLINWOOD — Meeting Tuesday, the Ellinwood City Council approved an $11,000 USDA grant for computer upgrades. A public hearing on the grant was listed at the top of the agenda but there was no public comment prior to council approval.

In other business, the council:

• Presented the Service Award to Tyson Revell for his five years of service with the fire department.
• Approved the sale of a 50-by-140-acre vacant lot to Gordon Eggers for $3,500.
• Approved to have city staff solicit requests for proposals (RFP)s for a housing study.
• Approved a minor change order of street projects.
• Approved City Administrator Chris Komarek as primary voting delegate to the Kansas Power Pool.
• Approved projects with SPARK funds.
• Approved to a replace bridge at Park Ave. and Santa Fe Blvd.
• Renewed the lease with AT&T for antenna use on water tower.
• Discussed but took no action on automated meter upgrades.
