The Fourth Annual Make a Movement was held Saturday at Great Bend’s Brit Spaugh Park.
There were 5K and 10K events in the morning as well as a bounce house for kids and food for everyone in the afternoon. The fun continued into the evening with live music by the McGilber Bros.
This was a fundraiser for the Dell Hayden Memorial Child Advocacy Center, part of the Family Crisis Center based in Great Bend.
Here are some results:
5K Female 19 and under winners: McKenna Esfeld, Kinley Stoss
5K Male 19 and under winners: Trevor Delong, Brendyn Schroeder
5K Female 20-29: Elizabeth Arias
5K Female 30-39: Amy Lamb, Nikki Munsch, Stacy McRendas
5K Male 30-39: Robert Williams, Brian Schroeder.
10K winners were Hannah Wondra, Ryan Nicholson and Nicholas Wondra.
McKenna Esfeld was the overall winner of the 5K and Hannah Wondra was the overall winner of the 10K.
Glenna Achatz was the overall winner of the 20 mile bike race.
Everyone that attended brought blankets or stuffed animals for this event, said Joanne Wondra with the Family Crisis Center. There was also a speaker from Bikers Against Child Abuse.
“We had a great turnout although the heat certainly was a factor,” Wondra said. “It was lots of fun for the families that attended — a great day!”
