The Great Bend Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the area of 27th and Morton St. around 5:05 p.m. Thursday. A short time later, an ambulance was dispatched to 2106 27th St. to transport a burn victim. After the burn victim was removed from the scene, Emergency Medical Service requested an air ambulance.

The firefighters had the fire out at the one-story wood-frame house in a few minutes, but remained at the scene.

There was also a report of downed power lines, and neighbors reported seeing an electrical cable hitting the back of the house. Heavy fire damage on the back of the house was visible from the alley.

Law enforcement was requested to direct traffic.

No additional information was available Thursday evening.
