A Kansas City man and former Great Bend resident died in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday evening on I-70 about eight miles east of Junction City in Geary County, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.

Zachary Bealer, 33, was killed when he lost control of his westbound 2003 Toyota Tacoma at about 7:05 p.m., sending it spinning across the median into the eastbound lanes, according to the KHP.

It was then struck from the rear by a 2020 Chevrolet Silvardo that was eastbound in the inside lane, driven by Rhonda Yoder of Trinidad, Colorado. A 2016 Dodge Ram that was eastbound in the outside lane, driven by Kinsey Davidson of Cleveland, Tennessee, struck the Yoder vehicle and then struck the Bealer vehicle.

Both the Yoder and the  Davidson vehicles came to rest on the grassy shoulder. Those drivers had no apparent injuries. Bealer’s vehicle came to rest approximately 80 feet down the embankment.

Occupants of the Yoder vehicle included: Jeremy Yoder, 33, Trinidad; Jesse Yoder. 22, Homesville, Ohio; and Wesley Yoder, 31, Trinidad. All had no apparent injuries.

The second occupant of the Davidson vehicle, Christopher Davidson, 31, Cleveland, Ohio, also had no apparent injuries.

All occupants of all three vehicles were wearing safety restraints, the KHP reported.
