At about 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, a three vehicle accident occurred on Hwy 96 between Great Bend and Ellinwood.  Barton County Sheriff and the Kansas Highway Patrol were both on the scene.  An eastbound truck towing a horse trailer lost two tires which collided with an eastbound van and a westbound SUV.  The windshield of the van and the grill of the SUV were smashed.  It is unknown at this time if there were any injuries.  The roadway was closed down for about 10 minutes.  More details to come.
