HOISINGTON — Every day in July, children can come to the Hoisington Public Library for a free book. They may choose from some of the gently used books being removed from the collection. New titles will be available daily.

The library will also host a summer movie matinee at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, in the City Gym. Come at 1:30 for refreshments and to pick out a spot. Bring your own chair, mat or pillow to sit on.

Upcoming events at the library include a reception at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, for featured artist of the month, Robert Joy. He will describe where he gets his inspiration and what techniques he employs.

There will be a preschool program at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, when Smoky Hills Public Television will bring learning and adventure stories. Daycare groups and families are welcome. The target age group is 1-6 years old. Call 620-653-4128 or come by the library to register for this special event.

Adults can attend “Fraud Awareness,” presented by the Wilson State Bank, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30. Topics will center around how to protect yourself from fraud. There will be light refreshments served and a Question & Answer period.
