Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, USD 428 Food & Nutrition Program will begin free meal service for students 18 years old and younger.

A meal package containing lunch and breakfast for the following day can be picked up at all five elementary schools and the Central Kitchen, 2201 Broadway Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., March 17-20.

According to a news release from USD 428 Public Information Director Andrea Bauer:

• Students can walk up, or lunch will be picked up car-side. Children must be present in the vehicle to pick up the meal.

• Anyone 18 & under will receive the free meal package, no questions asked.

• All area children are welcome. You are not required to attend USD 428, nor are you required to live in the City of Great Bend.

USD 428 is asking parents and guardians to respond to a brief survey, provided via email and on social media, to help Central Kitchen staff prepare appropriately at these pick-up locations.
