Baleigh Fry of Great Bend took home top honors from two recent events for music students.

Fry is a sixth grader at Holy Family School and a student of Connie Schneweis, private piano instructor and music director of Holy Family School music department.

Kansas Music Teachers Association held piano performances for the Fall Honors Auditions at Barton County Community College. This event was on Oct. 8 for District 5 of Kansas. Dr. Virigina Houser was the adjudicator. As a participant in the audition, Fry played three memorized classical piano selections and received a "1" rating.

Thus, she went on to the State Honors Auditions at Emporia State University. These auditions were held on Nov. 5. She received a "1" rating and honorable mention.
