It was in with the new as the Great Bend City Council reorganized Monday night following the April 5 general election.
First, the existing council approved the consent agenda. Then, Great Bend City Clerk Amit Patel administered the oath of office to newly elected or reelected City Council members Joel Jackson of Ward 2, Vicki Berryman of Ward 1, Brock McPherson of Ward 4 and Cory Zimmerman of Ward 3.
They earned their seats in the April 5 general election. Jackson and Berryman are incumbents. McPherson replaced Erika Julian and Zimmerman replaced Matt Hiss, winning from a field of three write-in candidates.
Their first actions were to approve the list of official depositories for city funds and elect a council president. Selected was Wayne Henneke.
The council also recognized outgoing council member Matt Hiss. Hiss served one term representing the Ward 3.
