The Great Bend City Council will meet Monday night and the Barton County Commission will meet Wednesday morning, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.
The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at City Hall, 1209 Williams. One can also view the meetings on Access TV via Cox Cable Channel 20 or live online at www.facebook.com/gbcitycouncil/.The meeting will be recorded.
The agenda includes:
• A long-term renewable lease agreement with Joe Andrasek for use of the city-owned parking lot near 12th and Williams.
• A conditional use permit for Air BNB requested by Sharon and Leon Alexander and Michelle Abedi at 2107 27th St.
• The lease of a building at the Great Bend Municipal Airport to Tony’s Aerial Spraying.
• A work session to discuss the Quality of Life Capital Improvement Plan.
The commission
The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.
It will be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

• A Resolution concerning the involvement of sitting Barton County Commissioners on area boards and committees.
• An Employee Recognition Award for Pam Christendon, a custodian in facilities management, operations department.

• Naming of Kansas Association Of Counties voting delegates.
Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:
• 9:45 a.m. – financial update with Matt Patzner, director of operations.
• 10 a.m. – zoning amendment for the Hoffman Trust with Judy Goreham, environmental manager.
• 10:15 a.m. – tax sale with Jim Jordan, county treasurer.
• 10:30 a.m. – program update with Veronica Coons, Barton County Conservation District manager.
• 10:45 a.m. – Hoisington childcare update with Patrick Crowdis, USD 431 superintendent.
• 11 a.m. – regular business discussion with Patzner.
