Great Bend Community Theatre is excited to present the World War II era family drama, “All My Sons.”

The Keller family is living the idyllic Midwestern American dream and the return to normal that the end of the war has brought. But their peace and unity start to come apart as they face the scars of the war, deeper family fractures and a long-hidden secret.

“This is a demanding production,” said director Ken Harton. “The audience will see a talented cast deliver on this classic drama.”

This play has been a rare opportunity for the cast and crew who hope it will be just as special for the audience, Harton said. The cast includes Dan Heath, Ali Gouge, Lyle Jones, Erin Ferguson, Marcus Mull, John Sturn, Teresa McHenry, E.J. Shepherd III, and Ashley Wood. Ken Harton directs and is assisted by Karen Kline-Martin.

“All My Sons” was the first Broadway success for playwright Arthur Miller, who won the Tony Award for Best Author for the play. He went on to author “Death of a Salesman” and “The Crucible,” eventually winning a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. He also wrote several screenplays including “The Misfits,” that featured his then-wife, Marilyn Monroe. Miller based the play on a true story.

The play is classic, but contemporary, winning Tony nominations on Broadway in 2019.

“This play is quintessential Arthur Miller with themes from 1947 that still apply today,” said Kline-Martin.

“All My Sons” will be presented Feb. 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Crest Theater, 1905 Lakin Ave. Tickets can be ordered at www.GBCT.net by clicking on the show link. Due to online ticketing, the theater box office will only be open one hour prior to each show. No phone orders will be taken.

Matthew Mazouch was responsible for the set design and along with Terra Decarolis did most of the construction.

Underwriters for the show are Brad and Sarah Shirer and the Gary Gore Memorial Fund.

A cash bar will be available prior to each evening show. Drinks will be served from 6:00-7:15 p.m.
